Shooter Still at Large in Lakeview Assault

Victim is in stable condition at an area hospital.

Nassau Police are investigating a that occurred late Tuesday night in Lakeview.

According to detectives, the 35-year-old male victim drove a friend to a house on Park Side Avenue.  When the victim’s friend got out of the car he was approached by a male black who brandished a gun and began shooting.  The victim was struck in the head and shoulder while he was sitting in the car. 

The male, who exited the car ran from the scene, is uninjured.  The subject fled on foot in an unknown direction, while the victim drove to Woodfield Road where he was met by officers responding to the scene. He was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

The subject is described as 6’ 0”, skinny build with dreadlocks and a mustache. He was apparently wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a backpack.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
