Teacher Arrested After Sexual Incident with Student at Lynbrook Motel

The defendant allegedly drove the student to the Capri Motel where they engaged in sexual relations.

A New York City school teacher was arrested in Bethpage on Friday morning after an alleged sexual incident that occurred in Lynbrook back in March.

According to Nassau County detectives, Tara Driscoll, 33, of Bay Shore, drove a male student under the age of 17 to the Capri Motel at 5 Freer St. in Lynbrook. While at the motel Driscoll allegedly engaged in sexual relations with the victim.

The incident occurred on March 19, 2011, police said.

The defendant surrendered to detectives around 9 a.m. Friday morning and is being charged with rape in the third degree and criminal sexual act in the third degree.

She will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.

How much more has to go on in this disgusting motel (using the term loosely) before it gets shut down?

I agree with Nicole. West Hempstead and Oceanside both managed to get rid of the blights on their communities. Is it because Lynbrook has village police and the incidents there are not as well publicized?

Agreed....GET RID OF THIS PLACE!!!!!

Well the issue is not the motel, it is the alleged rape of a young boy by and adult teacher. The place, if it weren't there would not have stopped the incident. She would have taken him somewhere else. Nevertheless, I have relatives who live in the are of the motel. There are constant arrests, prostitutes, johns and pimps going in and out all night. The Lynbrook Police, like many other small town or village departments are not pro-active and are mostly responsive in their operations. (exceptions: parking tickets and other vehicle violations) The Capri Hotel is a large tax base that Lynbrook wants to keep. An aqbandoned motel pays no taxes and is an eye sore. Wtih the present economy, there would be few takers to buy the property and convert it to housing.

I agree this problem plagued teacher was on a mission which led her to A motel. Not necessarily the Capri. The Capri is a bit secluded which probably was the reason she selected it. Due to the problems there,I believe the village would try to raze this property as Oceanside and West Hempstead did if they has an interest. Maybe the assisted living facility across the street could find a good use for it?

Wait a second. You're upset about the motel? Holy crap this country is screwed!!!!

That hotel is home to many pedaphiles listed on Meghan's Law. For all the taxes we pay in this town, it is a shame and a disgrace to the community and unsafe for our children. There are beautiful homes behind the motel and sad it is so unsafe for the children who live around it.
