Police: Lynbrook Man Killed When His Own Car Rolls Over Him Upstate

Cops say Richard Monticciolo was run over while trying to free his car after it got stuck in a driveway.

New York State Police have released the identity of a Lynbrook man who died upstate last weekend after his own car rolled over him.

Police said Richard Monticciolo, 61, was driving on Crowley Road in the Town of Fremont and looking for a friend's house on Saturday. He passed his friend's driveway and pulled into the next driveway to make a U-turn, but his car got stuck. 

Monticciolo got out of the 2013 Cadillac and tried to push the car to free it. The car rolled backward over Monticciolo and trapped him under the car, police said.

Construction workers nearby rushed to Monticciolo and were able to get the car off of him. He was rushed to Catskill Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, police said.
