VIDEO: Community Pays Final Respects to Callahan

A funeral Mass was held in West Hempstead for Malverne Mayor James Callahan.

Many local residents, politicians and loved ones of James Callahan III filled St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hempstead on Tuesday to mourn his passing while honoring the impact he had on them all.

Callahan, who served as Deputy Mayor of Malverne and Commissioner of Emergency Management for Nassau County, was only 42 when h He is survived by his wife and four young children.
