Canzoneri-Callahan to Run in Malverne Special Election

Village Trustee Patricia Canzoneri-Callahan accepts the Independent Party's nomination.

Patricia Callahan's time on the Malverne village board may extend beyond the nine months she agreed to serve when she was selected to fill the vacant seat of her late husband, Jim Callahan, in July.

According to fellow trustee and Independent party member Michael Bailey, "Patricia Canzoneri-Callahan has accepted the party nomination" for the special election that will be held in March. At this time, no other candidates have been announced for the election, which would be for the remaining three years of Jim Callahan's term as a village trustee.

Canzoneri-Callahan, a lifelong Malvernite, was sworn into office by her faither and former Malverne Mayor Joseph Canzoneri on July 6, less than two months after her husband suddenly passed away from cancer at the age of 42.
