VIDEO: West Hempstead Marches For Fallen Vets
The community commemorates Memorial Day 2011 with parade and ceremony.
The ominous clouds cleared away for West Hempstead to hold its Memorial Day parade Monday morning followed by a ceremony to pay tribute to America's fallen soldiers.
Several groups marched along with local veterans and a Marine Corps. honor guard including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, volunteer firefighters, West Hempstead Civic Association, Chamber of Commerce, Hebrew Academy of Nassau County and the high school marching band.
