Lynbrook School District Names New Administrator for Personnel

The Lynbrook Board of Education has officially appointed Maureen Berman to serve as the district’s administrator for personnel and student support services. 

Ms. Berman comes to Lynbrook from the Roslyn School District, where she served for 11 years as assistant principal of the Harbor Hill School before being named the school’s principal in 2010. Prior to her tenure in Roslyn, Ms. Berman served as a learning specialist, special education teacher and summer program administrator in the Mineola School District.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Berman has amassed skills in educational leadership, supervision, administration, organization, curriculum and instruction, as well as community relations. Through her administrative roles she has organized and participated in screening, interviewing, and staffing recommendations for instructional and non-instructional staff. She was also responsible for the supervision, observation and evaluation of staff members.

Ms. Berman is a doctoral candidate of education and interdisciplinary educational studies at LIU Post, where she received the Department of Educational Leadership Outstanding Student Award. She also holds a professional diploma in educational administration and supervision from LIU Post, a master’s degree in reading from Adelphi University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Molloy College.
