Lynbrook Students Participate in Red Ribbon Week

Students from three different schools wore red ribbons and red clothing to school in the fight against drugs.

During Red Ribbon Week, students and staff at Lynbrook’s Waverly Park, and Marion Street schools joined together in the fight against drugs and alcohol by wearing red ribbons and red clothing to school.

During the course of the last week in October, students practiced making positive decisions and learned ways to make good choices while maintaining their friendships. These concepts will be reinforced throughout the year using curricula from the Second-Step character education program.

The Red Ribbon campaign is the nation’s largest and oldest drug awareness campaign. The mission of the program is to encourage others to make a visible commitment to eradicate drug abuse from our homes, schools, communities and nation.
