"In the Heights" delighted Broadway audiences for three years but now the hit musical is coming to Malverne.
Fans of the show and those who missed it's run on the Great White Way, will have the chance to enjoy this award-winning musical next month when the curtain rises on Malverne High School's production of "In the Heights."
The talented cast had the chance to work with one of the stars of the Broadway production in mid-January when Janet Dacal spent the day at Howard T. Herber Middle School coaching the students as they performed some of the show's favorite numbers.

For those not familiar with the musical, it tells the stories of young people and families living in Washington Heights, N.Y., focusing on their ambitions, budding romances, friendships and the struggles they face trying to succeed.
Malverne's production will debut on Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. with a special performance for senior citizens. The general public open to the general public will be held Friday, March 8, at 8p.m., and Saturday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Howard T. Herber Middle School auditorium from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $9.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. (All sales and seat selections are final.)
