The Malverne School District has announced that as a result of the inclement weather, all after school and evening activities including the board of education meeting have been cancelled.
In the Lynbrook School District, all afternoon activities has been cancelled. However, the district said the following on their website: "Please note that the snow should subside by the evening so as of this posting, evening activities will take place, including the Marion Street Concert at the High School."
A winter weather advisory is in effect for the area, with snow accumulation of three to five inches expected and higher amounts possible locally.
The snow will create icy and hazardous travel conditions throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.
