Meet West Hempstead's New Mascot

The new Ram makes his debut at the West Hempstead High School Pep Rally.

West Hempstead has a new mascot.

The face of the local public schools is still the powerful Ram, but at Friday's Pep Rally the mascot revealed its fresh look.

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of last year's Student Council and a generous $1,000 donation from the Martinez family, the school was able to purchase a new Ram costume.

Adding to the school spirit, the West Hempstead cheerleaders (with some help from the young Broncos cheer squad) will be performing and encourage the entire community to "Jam the Stands."
