By Danielle Lambert

Following the departure of current business administrator Thomas P. McDaid Jr., Christopher Caputo has been named as the new business administrator for the Malverne Union Free School District, effective Aug. 26.

Caputo holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in management and a Master of Business Administration in business leadership from Dowling College. Graduating magna cum laude, he earned financial positions in both the West Islip Union Free School District and then the Tuckahoe Common School District, where he was able to hone his skills and receive hands-on experience to prepare him for this new position.

“I’m very pleased to accept the position of business administrator with Malverne UFSD,” Caputo said. “I am eager to make a positive contribution to the district and to work with everyone here.”

Malverne Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Hunderfund said an extensive search was conducted for the position before the decision was made to hire Caputo.
