Op-Ed: Jan Kasal Asks Malverne Residents for Support

Letter to the editor from Malverne BOE candidate Jan Kasal.

The following is from Malverne Board of Education candidate Jan Kasal:

Why I Am Running -

For years, I felt I could contribute to the community by coaching kids track and field and I continued doing it even after my own children left the track team. I also joined the team organizing the local 5K run.

Currently, I am figuring out how to increase the respect of residents in the eyes of the school district establishment while getting more residents involved. I view the education process not only in terms of increasing averages, percentages, and number of AP classes, but also in terms of ethics and respect. I know there are many others with similar views. By coordinating our efforts we’ll become a driving force of the district that will gain respect again.

There is only a couple of days left to the moment of “choosing” on May 21. And although the election is important, the period between the elections is equally important. It’s the period when myriad tasks on the school district agenda have to be performed. Each person has different abilities where he or she can contribute to a common purpose.

So, residents of Lakeview, Lynbrook, and Malverne say hello to each other on May 21 by voting for me, Jan Kasal, and share with me at k12ny.org how you can contribute to our common cause during the period till the next moment of “choosing."
