Cancer doesn’t care if you’re young or old, if your a child or a mother of two like Tiffany Gilchrist-Leslie.
A parent of two students at Grace Lutheran School in Malverne, her alma mater, Gilchrist-Leslie lost her battle with cancer at the age of 31 in August, but last month the community came together to fight back.
Children and adults shimmied and stomped, bounced and bopped during an 90-minute Zumba class inside the school’s gymnasium. As they raised their arms to the beat they were also raising awareness and funds in the fight against cancer.
