VIDEO: Malverne Students Thank Board With Unique Gifts

Students from each of the four Malverne schools showed their appreciation for Board of Education members.

It was a good night for the Malverne Board of Education Tuesday as students  from each of the district's four schools showed their appreciation for the trustee's service through song, poetry and other unique gifts.

First grader Kayley Palmer sang a sweet rendition of "You Can Make a Difference" to the board on behalf of her schoolmates at Maurice W. Downing. Davison Avenue Principal Ed Tallon donned a hard hat as he handed out cards, a poster signed by every one of his students and debris from the groundbreaking that took place at the primary school late last week. He explained that these items expressed the students' gratitude to the board for supporting the bond project, "building our future."

Two students from Herber Middle School students read an original poem and Malverne High School's select choir performed a fitting song to sum up the board's mission in these troubling times.
