The West Hempstead school board will be holding its monthly business meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the high school videoconference room.
According to the agenda, the Board of Education will be voting to approve a stipulation of a settlement with the West Hempstead Education Association, the teachers' union.
The board also plans to vote on adopting 17 existing policies including one regarding the ethics of school board members, which former Board of Education President Walter Ejnes had suggested earlier this year that the board review in light of allegations made against one trustee.
Also on the agenda is a resolution pertaining to an agreement with the American Legion, the approval of club charters and a corrective action plan for 2011-2012. No details about these items were included.
As always, there will be two periods during the meeting for faculty and residents of West Hempstead and Island Park to comment.
