West Hempstead School Board Agenda: June 26

See what the Board of Education will be discussing at tonight's special business meeting.

The West Hempstead Board of Education will hold a special business meeting Tuesday night to discuss some important matters that will impact the school district.

Superintendent John Hogan is asking the board to provide guidance regarding the board's goals for the 2012-2013 school year and the new Annual Professional Performance Review plan, which it could vote to adopt tonight, that will be used to evaluate faculty. Hogan is also asking for the board to give the administration directions regarding the Space Utilization Committee that was recently created. This committee, which several residents have already inquired about joining, will discuss how to handle the vacant space at and the soon-to-be vacantbuilding.

The board also plans to review a cooperative bid for the repair of a fuel tank alarm, as well as insurance bids, and discuss the needed repairs for the high school roof. And there is also a motion to consider release a memo the board received from its attorney on May 31. This may be the opinion its counsel issued regarding the actions taken by Trustee Cynthia DiMiceli, which at last week's board meeting.
