Malverne Football Tops East Rockaway in Double-OT
Malverne improves to 4-3 on the season with the win.
The Malverne Mules football team pulled off a stunning double-overtime victory against East Rockaway on Saturday, 22-21.
The score was tied at six heading into the first overtime. Aaron Hill would score on a 20-yard rushing touchdown, giving Malverne the lead at 14-6.
In the second overtime, Bryce Todd scored on a 1-yard touchdown run, with Hill scoring the game-winning conversion for the 22-21 victory.
Hill lead Malverne with 105 passing yards and a touchdown, along with 122 yards rushing and a touchdown. On defense, Kyle Richard and Tyler Zimmerman each had 13 tackles.
With the win, Malverne improves to 4-3 in conference IV, while East Rockaway falls to 2-5.
Malverne's last game of the season is on Friday, Nov. 1 at Island Trees High School. Game time is set for 7 p.m. East Rockaway finishes off the season at home against Cold Spring Harbor on Saturday at 3 p.m.
