The girls recently got a lesson in health education and fitness at L.E.A.R.N. in Baldwin.

Girl Scout Troop #2205 recently took a trip to L.E.A.R.N. Fitness in Baldwin, which is run by Lynbrook resident

The girls participated in a fun hour and a half trip that included a 30-minute health-education lesson and 30-minute exercise, which allowed the girl scouts to receive their fitness patch.

The girls received a calendar to bring home to continue to set health goals for themselves, and the exercise included a cardiovascular warm-up, an age appropriate circuit training, relay races, tag games and stretching and a cool down. The girls then shared a snack of whole wheat pizza and water.

"Lengel did a great job motivating and teaching the girls," said parent, Julie O'Connell.

L.E.A.R.N. is located at 826 Merrick Road in Baldwin, NY. The fitness center is one of the first facilities on Long Island that combines exercise and nutrition for children, but is for all ages, according to their Facebook Page.
