Veterans Day: Monday marks Veterans Day, a public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I to honor US veterans and victims of all wars.

- Federal offices, including the post office, are closed. Public schools are closed, as well as most banks.
- In the Village of Malverne, Village Hall and the Department of Public Works will be closed Monday. All Monday sanitation and recycling will be collected on Tuesday, Nov. 12, while all Tuesday sanitation and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

- The Malverne American Legion Post #44 is holding a Veterans Day ceremony Monday, 11 a.m. at the Gazebo in Reese Park.
Planning Board Meeting: The Malverne Planning Board holds a public hearing on Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 99 Church St.
School Board Meetings: The Malverne Board of Education holds a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, 8:00 PM in the high school library.
The Lynbrook Board of Education holds a meeting on Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. at the high school.
West Hempstead Chamber Update: The chamber announced that their meeting on Tuesday has been cancelled, but they would like to remind residents of the upcoming Holiday Party, which will be Thursday, Dec. 12 at Pompei Restaurant. The chamber said in their November newsletter that RSVP invitations and details will be sent out soon.
